Progress on the Belt and Road Initiative

Since first endorsed by President Xi in 2013, the BRI has expanded and evolved. By the end of January 2020, 138 countries and 30 international organizations had signed 200 Belt and Road cooperation agreements with China.1 Figure 1 summarizes key milestones of the signature policy.
