How our Henley Investment Centre integrates ESG

How our Henley investment centre integrates ESG

As an investor in global equities, corporate and sovereign fixed income, real assets and multi-asset strategies across 13 investment centres globally, we recognise the difference between asset classes and geographies, and we apply ESG principles accordingly.1

For more than 30 years, Invesco has demonstrated its commitment to responsible investing by actively encouraging ESG practices across every area of its business.

Within the UK, the Henley Investment Centre’s highly experienced investment team consists of 61 investment professionals with an average of 16 years of industry experience2. In Henley, the focus as long-term, valuation-led active managers is on engagement and dialogue with portfolio companies, not divestment. We believe that ESG investing is key to a sustainable future, which is why ESG integration underpins our investment process at every stage.

After all, attitudes are changing. Investors are increasingly looking to make a positive contribution to society and the environment through their personal finances, driving us towards a cleaner, heathier and a more equitable future.

Fund managers participate in board-level dialogue and are instrumental in giving shareholder views on management, corporate strategy, transparency, and capital allocation as well as wider ESG aspects. Click here to read one of our case studies on our engagement in the oil and gas industry.

In Henley, each fund manager is individually responsible for ESG integration and have absolute discretion in taking a view on any given ESG risk or opportunity.

“ESG is the movement of our age. We have long held the belief that in order to be successful, the concept of sustainability in all its forms is central to the investment decision.” Stephanie Butcher, CIO, Henley, Invesco UK.
