ESG

ESG@Invesco is taking place on Thursday 17 June, and the full event agenda is now LIVE. We have designed the event so you can pick and choose the sessions that are most relevant to you. Simply login to our virtual event environment and build your own agenda.

The event will provide an open and honest debate on ESG, its many paradoxes and the challenges currently facing investors and asset managers alike:

  • Plastic bags offer lower emissions than paper, but plastic impacts our oceans, what do we do?
  • Will climate policy unite nations or drive further divisions?
  • Are responsible investing goals best achieved through engagement or divestment?
  • Can passive deliver active ESG outcomes?
  • ESG reporting: performative theatre or measurably actionable?

All this with no greenwashing and no-nonsense, just clear, compelling, and feisty debate.

Our keynote speaker will be Esther Duflo, the 2019 Nobel Prize Winner for Economics, author of ‘Good Economics for Hard Times’ and Professor of Poverty Alleviation and Development Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is also the co-founder and co-director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL). Esther seeks to understand the economic lives of the poor, with the aim to help design and evaluate social policies. She has worked on health, education, financial inclusion, environment and governance and will provide an insightful keynote address not to be missed.
